Before the visit · ask and note

# Bring the questions that matter to you

Use a piece of paper, a phone note, or this page. Leave room for answers. The goal is to leave the visit with less guesswork.

Keep a place for your own words.

## Say what you want help with

Write the problem, what bothers you most, and what you hope would change. Add what you have already tried. Plain words are enough to start.

## Bring the medicine names

Prepare a list of your current medicines and supplements. Bring the exact name of anything being proposed. Mention allergies and the health history you want the clinician to hear.

## Ask why this choice fits your problem

What is this medicine meant to treat in my case? What evidence supports that use? What else could we consider? What remains uncertain? Ask for words you can repeat back.

## Ask what a no would mean

Could this visit end without a prescription? What happens to the fee then? What if I choose to wait? Get the care choice and the money answer clear together.

## Get the follow-up plan in plain words

Who can answer questions after the visit? Which tests or checks are part of the plan? What would make us reconsider the choice? Who helps if I have a problem?

Being able to ask the clinician more questions is part of what the national group representing state medical boards calls for in guidance checked in September 2026.

## Take home an answer you understand

Read back your notes before the visit ends. Ask the clinician to fill any gap. Keep the product name, reason for use, total quote, and follow-up route together.

If a term still feels unclear, say so. Asking for the same answer in plainer words is part of the conversation.

A question to keep

Ask: Can I say the plan back to you to check that I understood it?

This Orlando notebook helps with care questions. It does not operate a clinic; medicine is not sold through it.
